Earlier in the summer we were delighted to work with Joanne Mingo-Rawoo, senior Community Nurse with the Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, to provide a couple of Cage Cricket Sessions with two groups of adults with learning difficulties.
The fantastic facilities at St Piers School and College in Lingfield was an ideal location for a couple of Cage Cricket sessions towards the end of term.
In mid-July we were delighted to be joined by A Level student Sarah Rawoo for a week’s work experience.
Throughout this year we have had a fantastic opportunity to be part of Active Surrey’s Get Active 50+ initiative. This has enabled us to run very successful programmes in Epsom and Ewell, Reigate and Banstead and Runnymede Boroughs, with more sessions planned for Woking too.
Over the past few months we have been delighted to forge a partnership with Sutton Mencap, providing opportunities for some young adults with learning difficulties to enjoy Cage Cricket.
When asked if we would provide a game of Cage Cricket as a prize for Active Surrey’s Workplace Challenge we were of course delighted to oblige. The worthy winners of the prize were the ever-toiling employees of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.
Earlier this year Neil and Haidee took Cage Cricket to Egham Youth Centre.
Cage Cricket South East has recently completed a programme of Cage Cricket sessions at Thornton Heath Leisure Centre with the Croydon RAP scheme.
The ParaSports Club meets weekly at Spelthorne Leisure Centre and, run by volunteers, organises activities for children and young people with disabilities and other challenges. On 18 March 2017, Cage Cricket South East was invited to introduce the game to the club.
